Have you ever seen flames dancing with the moon,
In the dead of night ?
Moving to the moon's rhythm only it can hear ?
Frenzied flames singing out their last breath
(Popping, crackling, wooshing)
Have you ever set fire to the moon
In the gloomiest of skies?
And watched it burn, and burn,
As it consumed your thoughts ?
I ask you,
Have you ever danced under your burning moon ?
As I contemplate the beauty of my creations,
I hear the fire calling me home to be one with it,
I watch the ashes of what's left of this heavenly body
Fall to the earth as snow on a cold lonely night.
Consumed by these dancing flames,
I saw myself dying a slow death
Passing through the fire as an unborn child
My ashes were buried among the stars
And in the darkness I have seen,
The many layers of deception
Peeled off to reveal that which truly is.
I have seen love hidden in its legions of cloaks
Fooling me to believe it was not there.
I have seen the seeds planted in me,
Which were not rightfully mine.
I have seen how quick we are
To claim the heroes we create,
Yet deny the monsters
That belong just as much to us
And how that blinds us to our rightful power,
For the world belongs to the authors of consciousness
But now I see !
By God, do I see !
